Since 1987, the Fort
Bend County A&M Club has recognized more than 136 students and
awarded
scholarships that total more than $219,000. The scholarship effort is
supported
annually by Fort Bend County Aggies and friends who participate in
various
fund-raising events such as our Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament. In
2004, twelve $2000 scholarships were awarded.
The scholarship
process
begins each year when Fort Bend County seniors (who will attend A&M
in the fall)
submit their application, narrative, transcript, letters of
recommendation,
etc. The Scholarship Committee reviews all information and
selects
finalists for an interview. Candidates are interviewed and scholarship
recipients are recommended to the Board for approval. Following the
Board's
approval, scholarships are awarded. Recipients are notified and invited
to attend the annual Fort Bend County A&M Club's Muster Ceremony.
Recipients
are recognized at Muster and encouraged to stay in touch with the Club
as to their experience at A&M!
We offer hearty congratulations to our 2005-2006 scholarship recipients:(Pictured with our 2005 reciepients is Ken Reeves, our '05 Muster speaker)
