SCHOLARSHIPS

One of the most important activities of the Club is our annual scholarship program for area students. 

The Abilene A&M Club supports as many as twelve (12) Abilene area students with two-year scholarships of $500 per semester. 

The Abilene A&M Club raises funds for these scholarships by selling French fries at the annual West Texas Fair & Rodeo here in Abilene each September. Thanks to an exclusive arrangement granted by the Fair Committee, the Club is the only provider of French fries at the Fair. Each year, we purchase over 13,000 pounds of potatoes that are lovingly hand washed, cut and fried into our famous Aggie French Fries. 

Over 100 individuals (Aggie and non-Aggie) volunteer their time each year in this, our most significant fund raising effort. Thousands and thousands of fair-goers are treated to fresh, hot and piled-high Aggie French Fries.
